TechUp - Johns Hopkins University

As the needs of Baltimore's workforce becoming increasingly digitized, technological literacy becomes paramount for job seekers. Among the rich infrastructure of career services offered by community-based organizations, there is somewhat of a gap between the technological literacy of clients and the objectives of a career service program. TechUp is a social enterprise founded by Johns Hopkins University undergraduate students that aims to bridge that gap through technological literacy workshops. We are partnering with local nonprofits to host our workshops for their clients who seek to have this need fulfilled. The workshops will teach clients the basics of using a computer, operating basic computer programs found under the G Suite, how to use video conferencing platforms, and more. The contents of the workshops as well as the delivery will continue to be adjusted according to population needs.
