TECNATOM was set up in 1957 as a Spanish engineering company specialising in guaranteeing the operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants to the highest levels of safety. The company’s main activities centre on the rendering of component inspection and structural integrity services, the training of personnel in advanced training settings and the plant operating assistance engineering. Today, it is a business group with subsidiaries in France, Brazil and China that carries out activities in several sectors, including energy, petrochemical, railways and aerospace. The company supplies services and products with a high technological content, frequently designed and developed in- house, tailored to the needs and requirements of the different clients and markets and possessing state-of-the-art mechanical, electronic and data-processing design resources and programmes. TECNATOM carries out projects in 30 countries around the world and its methodology and equipment have been validated by clients and regulatory authorities at an international level. Currently, the company participates in the design and supply of advanced control rooms and full scope simulators for 15 nuclear power plants in China, Taiwan, Argentina and Brazil, consolidating its presence as an international reference for the realisation of digital control room design and construction projects. The company is also deeply involved in future developments, embodied in its participation in advanced nuclear power plant projects, as the new constructing plants worldwide: AP1000, ESBWR, ABWR, APR-1400 or PHWR. TECNATOM has provided advanced and sophisticated technology for nuclear energy over five decades. Its role within international nuclear projects over this period has allowed the company to adapt its technological capacities to a very demanding environment, contributing with innovative solutions to the global nuclear and technological challenge.
