TEDx Campobasso is an independent event linked to the non-profit organization TED. What is TED. TED (short for Technology Entertainment Design) is a conference brand that originates in Silicon Valley. Born in February 1984 as a single event focused on technology and design, it later extended its competence to the scientific, cultural and academic world. Its mission is summarized in the "ideas worth spreading" formula. Among the most celebrated speakers, TED hosted former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Nobel Laureate James Dewey Watson, Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. TEDx Campobasso is created in the spirit of the TED mission. What is TEDx. A TEDx event is a local gathering where talks and live performances (TED style) are shared with the local reality. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently by the community for the community. The content of each TEDx event is unique and independently developed, but they all have characteristics in common. A series of talks (short and carefully prepared), demonstrations and performances of an idea-focused type and which cover a wide range of themes to stimulate learning, inspiration and imagination - and to arouse thick conversations. All TEDx events introduce multiple issues and a diversity of voices from various disciplines. A TEDx event is totally non-profit, organized by volunteers from the local community and, just like in a TED event, it lacks any commercial, religious or political purpose. Its goal is to stimulate conversations, connections and, above all, to create the spirit of the community.
