After 38 years as a dentist, I've retired from what we used to term wet fingered dentistry. Yes, when I started, we didn't use gloves, just soap. I now have the time to continue to work in dentistry through the development of my eHealth App teeth4life. While we have made significant advances in technology and will continue to do so, human psychology is not so quick. We still have an active limbic system often active in the dental surgery in the UK, which may be reduced if we call it a dental office as over the pond. We can utilise the technology to assist us in our OHI delivery and virtually assist the public 24/7 using the computer they carry into the bathroom hopefully twice a day where they may be more relaxed and take the video information and reminders on board. Dentists, Hygienists, and Dental Therapists register and customise for Free via care4teeth.co.uk and MID on teeth4life.org.uk. The idea being you promote your services, your OHI, and highlight other relevant health issues related to our role, the most important being Oral Cancer. I hope that the App will be shared by the public on social media to engage and encourage them to see us more regularly.
