TEIJIN CDMO

Teijin CDMO, under Teijin group, specializes in cell therapies including tissue-engineered products, with the aim of supporting the process development and manufacturing of cell and gene therapeutic products in Japan – taking innovative science from concept to patient treatment. Teijin is a technology-driven global group of companies comprising more than 170 companies and employing some 20,000 people across 20 countries worldwide. In March 2021, Teijin acquired Japan Tissue Engineering Co., Ltd. (J-TEC), a pioneer of regenerative medicine in Japan, to partner in guiding the establishment of Teijin CDMO services. Teijin CDMO is born from a wealth of experience in cell and gene therapeutic product development and manufacturing in Japan. This is derived from our guiding partner, J-TEC, launching the first two regenerative medicines on the Japanese market and currently owning 25% of all regenerative medical products approved in Japan – benefiting in excess of 2,500 patients. In addition, J-TEC’s accomplishments in CDMO span more than 130 contract manufacturing projects, validating the breadth and depth of our knowledge-base and expertise.
