Phone Park (Telefonrammen in Danish) is a container developed to reduce smartphone distraction in the classroom. Students put their phones in their designated compartments when the class starts and pick them up again when they leave.
Phone Park was developed by Alexander Strand, a high school teacher in Denmark, as a solution to acute classroom disturbance. His experience with using the phone container has yielded a number of interesting results. Without access to their smartphones, students find it easier to concentrate, are less distracted, and develop better contact with their teacher. The social environment among the students also improves when phones are not physically available in the classroom.
