Tempo

Tempo is a space designed from aesthetics and inclusiveness. It seeks to reflect the cultural diversity of Havana through music, art, cuisine, and craft cocktails. Tempo Lounge Bar is the result of a bold and insistent idea. The maestro Gaspar Agüero Barreras, considered to be one of the most influential and progressive personalities of Cuban musicology and musical pedagogy between the 19th and 20th centuries, lived in this house from 1933 to 1951. In his study room, he hosted regular sessions to transcribe African music, aided by the informants-drummers of Don Fernando Ortiz, who maintained close professional and friendly relations with the maestro.
