terahertz.NRW is a state-supported network in North Rhine-Westphalia, formed by Ruhr-Universität Bochum, University of Duisburg-Essen, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Fraunhofer FHR, and Fraunhofer IMS. The network focuses on cutting-edge terahertz research in communication, localization, material characterization, medical technology, and environmental monitoring. Its primary goal is to leverage the disruptive potential of miniaturized electronic and photonic THz circuits, an area where the five partner institutions are globally recognized leaders, to develop innovative mobile applications in these fields.
