Our instruments allow the characterization and visualization of internal structures of dielectric compounds. Teratonics’s technology offers singular advantages, particularly for the control of lightweight components like plastics and composites that become widely spread in a variety of industries. Thanks to an internationally patented and awarded breakthrough technology, the start-up can exploit the unique potential of ultrashort Terahertz pulses for non-destructive testing (NDT) during the life stages of a product.
The Terahertz frequency range is the last part of the electromagnetic spectrum to be exploited in an industrial manner; it allows non-contact analysis, without danger to health, without the need for radioprotection. These are conditions for highly mobile use of an instrument and its flexible application on diverse object shapes. Teratonics’s unique pulsed approach gives in a very rapid way access to the 3D structure of objects including precise wall thickness measurement and high probability of defect detection. 3D imaging of internal structures becomes possible in the production cycle time of many industries. This inline capacity gives Teratonics a singularity on the THz market and in many cases also on the NDT market in general.
