At TERGY SAGAVA, our carbon-negative process generates maritime biofuels and sustainable power by repurposing biogenic waste.
A Copenhagen based, innovative, deep tech start-up from DTU (Technical University of Denmark), we tackle the decarbonisation of the hard-to-abate transport sectors. Starting by enabling the energy transition in the maritime industry, for a future of net-zero shipping.
Opposite to future fuels like methanol, which are only suited for new vessels running on dual-engine configurations, our biofuels also enable the decarbonisation of the “legacy fleet” (the existing vessels running on conventional fossil fuels = ~95% of all vessels in operation) by directly replacing the use of fossil fuels with our drop-in TER-SA Bio-oil.
We exclusively process biogenic waste (plant based biomass), strategically selected from exclusively fair and residual sources without indirect land use change (iLUC) issues. Besides our TER-SA Bio-oil, we also co-generate syngas and carbon-negative biochar, effectively capturing CO2 in the process.
With our technology, we capture 10 tonnes of CO2-eq per tonne of biofuel produced (meaning that for every 1 tonne of TER-SA Bio-oil produced we have a carbon-sink of 10 tonnes of CO2-eq sequestration).
