On June 27, 2017, Terrabon, Inc. went out of business as per its Chapter 7 liquidation filing under bankruptcy. Terrabon, Inc. operated as a bioenergy technology company focusing on the commercialization of renewable biofuels and industrial chemicals. Its technologies included MixAlco, a bio-refining technology that converts non-food and non-sterile biomass into chemicals, such as acetic acid, ketones, and alcohols that can be processed into renewable gasoline fuels; and SoluPro, a bio-products conversion technology that converts protein-bearing waste material into animal feed and commercial adhesives. The company had joint venture arrangements with biomass generators, such as municipalities, forest product manufacturers, agricultural and food processors, and entities with large quantities of stranded biomass. Terrabon, Inc. had strategic partnerships with Waste Management Inc.; Valero Energy Corp.; Texas Emerging Technology Fund; Texas Systems & Controls; CRI Catalyst Company; and Logos Technologies.
