Terracore’s local experience in ground investigation has started in 1977 before and during the construction of the Marsa dock and the Malta Freeport. On the other hand our international experience has started in June1978 were Alfred Xerri Director / General Manager of Terracore Ltd., has joined the Oil Drilling and Sampling Industry. The 21 years in this field has taken Alfred to France, Scotland, Nigeria, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Oman, Siberia and Pakistan were he has spent the last eight years in the Oil Industry as a Rig Superintendent, managing a workforce of about 120 employees and having all the departments reporting directly to him and that includes the Drilling, Geological, Mechanical, Electrical and Catering Departments.
Terracore was formed in 1994. and since then the company has been providing the Services of Drilling in any direction from 10mm up to 300mm in diameter and 200m deep, Sampling, Geological, Geotechnical, In Situ Testing, Laboratory Testing, Core Cutting, Anticipating Possible Foundation Problems, structural monitoring, Providing the Allowable Bearing Capacity, Geo Environmental Impact Assessments, Including Geology, Paleontology, Geomorphology, Hydrology, Hydrogeology and Mineral Resources Assessments, and Quality Control.
In the past 18 years we have carried out about 99% of the ground investigations that were performed on the Maltese islands offshore and on land. Basically we investigated almost all the projects that required a ground investigation. We were also very successful in carrying out a ground investigation offshore west of Tripoli Libya and due to this success we are presently being invited to submit a quotation for another offshore job east of Tripoli Libya for a new fishing Port.
