Terri E. Hilliard, Esq. is the founder of Terri Hilliard, P.C. law offices in Westlake Village, Santa Barbara and Burbank, CA. Her practice centers on advanced estate and business succession planning, asset preservation, special needs trusts, and family protection planning for seniors, individuals and families. She is also a private mediator focused on helping families, elders, individuals and businesses resolve disputes. She earned her law degree from Loyola Law School in 1989, While at Loyola, she was a contributing author of the Loyola Entertainment Law Journal. Today, she is an admitted member of all California State and Federal Courts, the California State Bar. Se is a member of The Conejo Valley Estate Planning Council, National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, N3AP, Board of Senior Concerns of the Conejo and director of its Legal Pro Bono panel,, the Ventura County Bar Association, Estates section and Wealth Counsel. She is accredited with the Veterans Administration. Ms. Hilliard is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor and Exit Planning Institute member. Ms. Hilliard trained as a mediator at The Straus Institute, Pepperdine School of Law and Loyola Law School. A court-approved mediator and has served on Los Angeles Court civil and probate panels. A contributing author in “Protecting Your Legacy: What You Really Need to Know for the Second Half of Life” book and author of You're are not Alone-for Alzheimer's and the Caregivers and is a Dementia Care Trainer. She is also a skilled public speaker and panel moderator on a wide variety of subjects, including caring for seniors, Medi-Cal and long-term care options, deed transfers upon death, divorce and estate planning, senior abuse and scams, purposeful estate planning, transition planning and limited conservatorships for special needs, aging strategies for health and wealth, planned giving, business succession planning, advocate for the special needs community and dementia care training.
