About ASCE - Texas Section
ASCE Texas Section is one of the largest and most active sections of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the oldest national civil engineering society in the United States. Established in 1913, the Texas Section represents nearly 10,000 members throughout Texas. The Section is headquartered in Austin and comprises 15 Branches around the state and Student Chapters at all the state’s leading universities. Committed to promoting, encouraging and recognizing civil engineering excellence and professional growth, the Texas Section holds an annual meeting in the fall, CECON, which is open to all civil engineers and anyone involved in infrastructure and public works. Additionally the Section produces seminars and other events throughout the year, as well as the Student Symposium in the spring in coordination with the ASCE Student Chapter that is hosting the regional student conference that year. The Branches of the Texas Section hold monthly meetings, often with guest speakers and topical discussions.
