Textum produces tricot bags as well as all the accessories, knitted-crochet-macramé, such as scarves, plaids, shawls of the highest quality through a network of home workers who have been working with us for twenty years.
Textum was born after Felice and Barbara's twenty years of experience with the LeApiOperaie brand. A brand designed and created by Barbara Pianese for the production of tricot bags in 2002.
In 2019, Felice and Barbara, in order to give new commercial impetus to the brand, decided to sell the ownership of the brand to a group of entrepreneurs from Milan.
Barbara was, until last May, the creator and cool hunter of Le ApiOperaie for the new ownership, while Felice was the production manager as well as commercial contact, again, until last May.
For many years, the LeApiOperaie brand has been recognised as one of the companies with the greatest experience and savoir-faire in ironwork, crochet and macramé, representing the richness of Italian craftsmanship around the world.
Unfortunately, at the beginning of 2022, different views, with the new ownership, led us to start again with a new company, owned by us, focused on handmade products.
The production process has always been, and still is, in the beautiful land of Salento where it represents, through local craftswomen, a more than centuries-old tradition, as well as having a precise cultural value with widespread professionalism.
We have:
- our own workshop dedicated to the assembly of bags, should the customer want the finished product, and to the development of prototypes
- twenty homeworkers suitable for hand knitting, crochet and macramé work
The entire production chain is traceable and gives the guarantee of a true handmade product in Italy.
It is an artefact created for an evolved consumer, who is looking for something refined and unique, ecologically produced, handmade in an artisanal manner.
