SoapBox is an international online-based magazine focused on art, music, fashion, culture and current events as it pertains to Africans in diaspora. Our intent is to inform, educate and influence people on issues and affairs concerning Africa, West Africa to be precise. The target demographic is the Africans who reside in western countries like The United States, Canada, England and France but not forget those in Africa as well. The name "Soapbox" comes from the history of the common man creating a platform to be heard. In recent times, where so many of the youth are looking to be entrepreneurs, especially in the entertainment sector, a platform like this will garner a great amount of following. The website will include works from writer, columnists, graphic artists, contemporary artists, photographers and filmmakers. The idea is to feature individuals whom the audience will relate with and connect to. The main Objective for Tha SoapBox is to replicate the effect of the soapbox, which gave a lasting impression on those who witnessed. We are creating a stage for up and coming creative to reach new audiences. The overall theme is to be inclusive not exclusive. The big picture for SoapBox is to create a source of information not only in the entertainment field in America but also the growing West African entertainment realm, it will be home to original content highlighting the future Walt Disney, Stanley Kubrick, Andy Warhol, Coco Chanel and more from the African market. The approach we’ll take when reporting pop culture topics will be an informative and educative type, the content will majorly visuals consisting of reality themes show, panel discussions and documentaries. The West African entertainment market is a thriving business that is finding the perfect balance between its rich history in culture and its fascination with westernized practices.
