Thaavaram

Thaavaram (all things related to Plants, in Tamil) is a global Surveillance Software & System that aims to collect data, detect and monitor incidence of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Plants. It is a first of its kind, grassroots, not for profit initiative. Thaavaram hopes to play an important long term role in the field of AMR in the plant sector. AMR - Time to act, NOW AMR is a silent pandemic creeping all around us. The current discourse on AMR is largely surrounding Humans and Animals. While any discourse on AMR is welcome, the Plant sector needs to get its due. One Health – AMR Incidence in Plants Plants form the bedrock on which food systems are built. They are the primary food producers. The silent pandemic AMR, is affecting plants as intensely as it affects humans and animals. Thaavaram will pioneer the cause of Plants. Thaavaram will be their spokesperson!
