The Thabet Group of Companies The Thabet Group, one of the largest business houses in Yemen owes its origin to the enterprise of Mr Abdo Thabet who in 1925, started a business of bunkering ships in Aden. This company rapidly developed into a conglomerate with major activities in stevedoring, clearing and forwarding service. Responsibility for growing the business was taken over from their father in 1956 by the next generation Thabet brothers. The Thabet brothers established their business base at Hodeidah in 1969. The Thabet Group's philosophy that a country or company draws its strength and quality from the caliber of its people is reflected in practical terms by the care taken of employees at all levels. Great emphasis is also placed on the training of Yemeni nationals to cater for the Group's present requirements and future growth.
