Main research programs include macroeconomic policy, international economic policy, economic sector analysis, natural resources and environment, energy policy, science and technology policy, human resources and social policy, and laws. Priority research areas are new economic development model, innovation policy, fiscal policy, education reform, Anti-corruption, and water management. Examples of impacts on policy changes are the abolishment of rice export premium and the introduction of less distortive rice price guarantee scheme, the establishment of the Thai PBS , the first public television in Southeast Asia, and a number of legislations.
