Since 1990, Thar focuses on sustainable supercritical CO2-based processes primarily on natural product extraction/purification, chromatographic separations of synthetic chemistries including chiral compounds. Additionally, Thar solves problems for clients in sterilization, impregnation, lyophilization and remediation. Over our history, we have engineered/fabricated equipment or for companies like Pfizer, ADM, Nestle, Merck, Dupont, Novartis, Wuxi Apptec plus many small ingredients producers and local consumer brands. Thar has partnered with clients to develop sustainable industrial-scale applications for customers on 5 continents. Today, Thar operates multiple units for natural product toll processing in USA and designs, fabricates + implements automated supercritical fluid extraction / purification systems. Also known as SCFE or SFE, CO2 is a less expensive and more sustainable extraction solvent replacing hexane, ethanol and steam. With a technology footprint that includes CO2 with co-solvents and subcritical H2O continuous batch extraction, counter-current extraction / remediation to chromatographic purification and isolations (SFC), Thar is unmatched in expertise in executing green chemistry techniques from food to pharma.
