The Accountability Board owns shares in nearly 200 of the largest companies within the food, tech, communications, retail, and other significant industries. Our objective is to cultivate growth through active engagement with our portfolio companies. In particular, we focus on increasing transparency and stewardship around critical social and environmental issues, as well as on certain corporate governance practices—as these are issues where we find a strong nexus between significant policy matters and financial materiality. Some of the significant matters we engage our holdings on include: climate change risk and governance, animal housing/food safety, diversity, waste management (particularly related to food waste), public health, board leadership and capital structures, and shareholder rights and accountability.
