The American Question, A Documentary

Americans of all backgrounds struggled to answer the ‘American’ question throughout our travels from the coast to heart of the country. They each spoke about the Constitutional values that built the United States - Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness - as a baseline. Neighbors spoke with the same set of words, friends agreed that the country is divided, and yet individual Americans refused to take responsibility. Our independent team set out to explore their fears of a dying American dream along with wavering American values. Documenting first person accounts of the American experience today, we uncovered an unseen narrative about the causes of severe misunderstandings and disenfranchisement that are pulling communities apart. Beyond the divisions separating Americans across nearly every dichotomy, is an untold reality that has been building for a century. The film we produce will be the start of a national conversation that questions the decisions of every day citizens and seeks to re-establish a starting point from which we can optimistically march forth into the future.
