The research is clear: in order to combat the harmful effects of screen time - we need to eliminate the harmful elements and techniques.
Because for children around the world, screen time has simply become unavoidable. Studies from across the globe show that the majority of children begin watching television before their first birthday, averaging nearly an hour-per-day by 6-months old.
There’s a community of influence (relatives, siblings, caregivers) that is difficult for a parent to control. And then there’s the effects of our own screen usage. The odds are truly stacked against babies from day 1.
This is why it’s so important that our youngest and most vulnerable have access to ad-free, cost-free, research-informed media that engages both caregivers and children with care.
