The Boardwalk Inn

The Boardwalk Inn was originally built in 1928 as the Travelers Hotel and is the oldest lodging establishment in St. Ignace Michigan. In the lobby we have on display the original desk registers from the years 1929 to 1934 that were found tucked away when the hotel was being remodeled. We have tried to maintain the charm and atmosphere of the old building wherever possible. The name Boardwalk Inn was chosen because we are directly across from the beautiful Municipal Boardwalk that runs the length of the City of St. Ignace along Moran Bay. This historic hotel is surrounded by many quaint shops, ferries to Mackinac Island, excellent restaurants, churches, and recreational activities. Beautiful Lake Huron is at our front door and the old northbound railroad grade (for Hiking, and Trail biking) is at OUR BACK DOOR. The Fireside Room ( where a continental breakfast is served ) is available to our guests for cards, board games, and puzzles. This room can also accommodate a small group of 15 for meetings. All of our guest rooms have private baths, cable television and air conditioning. The rooms have been decorated as bedrooms rather than typical hotel rooms and are meticulously cleaned and maintained by the owners, Jim and Kayla Krug , themselves to insure a more comfortable environment for your visit. Please note we do not have an elevator and are not disability accessible. Check-in 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, give us a call if you will be after 9:00pm so arrangements can be made.
