The Busby Centre

Driven by a philosophy of empowerment, David Busby Centre is a community not-for-profit organization working from a non-judgmental approach to advocate for and improve conditions for individuals and families within the County of Simcoe who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. FINDING SOLUTIONS TO HOMELESSNESS Communities across Canada are rallying together to implement coordinated and focused approaches to end homelessness. The David Busby Centre is one of the lead organizations participating in actively bringing those solutions based and housing first best practices to our community. Housing with support is the only solution to homelessness. The David Busby Centre is an active member in the Simcoe County Alliance to End Homelessness (SCATEH). Currently our Executive Director is also the Chair of the SCATEH which includes 70 partners across Simcoe County. Visit the Simcoe County Alliance to End Homelessness at www.scateh.com In 2016 and 2018 The David Busby Centre was tasked with the very important role of coordinating our local 20k Homes Campaign and Homelessness Survey across Simcoe County. Working with our Simcoe County Alliance to End Homelessness partners and community stakeholders we were able to connect with people experiencing homelessness over a concentrated period of time to gain local data as well as to get a snapshot of the crisis in our community.
