We are an independent press dedicated to sharing untold stories. We collaborate with individual authors, charities and museums to co-publish their creative projects and share them with our community of readers. What we do - authors We work with authors to publish their books in a way that maximises their royalties. Caper co-funds preparing the manuscript for publication and printing. We use industry-leading printers for higher quality, professional, results. We sell the books online and in local bookstores and promote them via social media and live events. What we do - organisations If you are a museum service, charity or other organisation with a book project to publish but without the internal capacity to produce and print the book then we can help. We ‘white label’ the project, meaning that we don’t foreground the Caper brand, highlighting your organisation instead. We offer picture book, e-book and audio content. What is co-publishing? We describe what we do as ‘co-publishing’ for two reasons. Firstly, because we collaborate with authors to publish their books. And secondly because we are building a community of writers and readers who work together to promote them. In this way, authors receive maximum royalties and readers are directly involved with the books they love. Readers and writers can also suggest works for publication by writers they know, creating a more direct route into the publishing world. What we can do for you The Caper Press offers a number of different options. These range from full support with structural editing, copy editing, page setting and cover design to a much lighter touch offer of a final proof and tidy. Depending on the type of contract agreed, the Caper Press pays for a percentage of the upfront costs and any profit share takes that into account. We support the authors with distribution and marketing. And our contracts take into account that an author may be noticed by a major publisher after being published by Caper.
