The Caumsett Foundation is a dedicated organization committed to preserving and enhancing Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve, a unique 1,500-acre property on Long Island's north shore. Established in 1997, we work closely with New York State Parks and the local community to support this historic environment.
Our mission focuses on environmental conservation and restoration, historic preservation, educational initiatives, low-impact recreation, and cultural heritage protection.
As a recognized model "friends group," we spearhead various projects, including grassland restoration, invasive species management, butterfly habitat conservation, and trail maintenance and improvement. We are passionate about maintaining the park's natural beauty, protecting its diverse ecosystems, and sharing its rich history with visitors.
