The Chinese Centre (North of England) is a registered Charity (1093920) with a vision and mission to promote social inclusion, equality and diversity. To that end, our organisation is also known as the CICT Open Learning Centre. The Centre opened in February 2003 upon the initial receipt of DfES funding to run a UKonline Centre for the local Chinese Community. We were identified by Ofsted as an Outstanding Adult Training Provider in 2007 and our provision has maintained high quality ever since. With our widening participation strategy, we are now serving learners from different ethnic backgrounds.
Having successfully completed the CLLD Truly Home project (2020-22), we are now running the RISE@Truly Home project (2024-25) funded by the North East Combined Authority to support BAME economically inactive learners to move a step closer to employment.
