The DoD Senior Military College (SMC) Cyber Institutes share the vision of building a pipeline or pathway for qualified civilian and military cyber professionals and providing professional development for practicing DoD professionals. The diverse educational programs in cyber and related fields across the SMC coalition have the depth to address the DoD Cyber Mission Force (CMF) work roles.
The DoD SMC Cyber Institutes leverage the dynamic and varied cyber academic and research programs and proven SMC National Service-oriented cultures to strengthen curricular sharing and student experiences among the six institutions. The pilot program promotes opportunities (financial and experiential) for minority students, women, first-generation college students, veterans, and economically challenged students to increase the diversity of the DoD cyber military and civilian workforce.
The Cyber Leader Development Programs at each of the six campuses provide military and civilian students with DoD-focused cyber immersive opportunities, including internships, research projects, competitions, and certifications. These experiential components complement the academic courses led by top-tier faculty with military and industry experience and will prepare the next generation of cyber leaders who are ready to go to work the day they graduate.
