The Downe Arms

The Pub was built circa 1800 and had one of the first female landladies of the time, on the first floor which had many uses over the years was once the local courthouse, also across the road is the Penny cells a Lock-up for people who had too much to drink etc which is still standing, but not used , the Licensee now is Siobhan, the bar manager her mother and the chef her father so it really is a family run business.
