The Eastern Quill

The Eastern Quill is an independant writers society promoting the marginalised Sylheti language. Our aim is to preserve Sylhet's rich literary tradition by organising workshops, seminars and conferences. We want to help Sylheti writers share and publish their work. The Eastern Quill believes that the Sylheti language is not a slang dialect of Bengali but α sophisticated language in its own right. In order to prevent the replacement of Sylheti by Bengali and other regional languages, it must be given a safe space to flourish and grow.
