The ePhyto Solution

The ePhyto Solution is an electronic phytosanitary certification exchange solution developed by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and funded by the Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) and other IPPC contracting parties. The ePhyto Solution consists of the Hub, the GeNS, and a standardized message approach. • A central server (Hub): a central exchange system that facilitates the transfer of electronic phytosanitary certificates between NPPOs, either from and to their own national electronic system or by using the generic national system described below. • A Generic ePhyto National System (GeNS): a web-based system that can produce and receive ePhytos, to assist countries that do not have a national electronic system to produce, send and receive ePhytos. • Standardized message: the structure and transmission of ePhytos will follow a harmonized format through the use of standardized mapping, codes and lists
