The First Night Project was started in 2020 as the Make-a-Wish of Harry McGovern, a teenage boy who was undergoing chemotherapy. Harry's wish to provide teenagers with the quality amenities he wish he had during inpatient chemotherapy became a guiding mission that has since transformed into a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The First Night Project distributes high-quality amenity care-packages containing approx. $400 of special-curated amenities to teenagers on their first night of chemotherapy. The organization has raised $135,000+ since inception and has expanded operations to every children's hospital in the Pacific Northwest region.
