About The Genesis Project
The Genesis Project: Building Entrepreneurs for Africa "As you read through these pages you will come to realise that the vision of exponentially increasing the number of innovative and competent entrepreneurs who will go on to create the jobs that are so desperately needed in Africa is real, practical and achievable." - Anthony Farr (CEO: Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy Africa). Authors Stuart Hendry & Anthony Hill from the University of Cape Town bring you a new book to inspire with tales of the young entrepreneurial landscape in South Africa. Stuart Hendry has been building entrepreneurs at the University of Cape Town since 1999. As a tenured Lecturer & Course Convenor at UCT, Stuart is a two times co-recipient of the prestigious CHED award for Outstanding Collaborative Pedagogy. In 2010, he won an International Award for Distinguished Research in the field of Entrepreneurial Leadership Development. In 2014 he received the UCT Vice Chancellors Award for Social Responsiveness for outstanding leadership in promoting social justice in poor & marginalised communities. In his spare time, Stuart is a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist & has served on the boards of several NGO’s. He is an accomplished martial artist, who enjoys gym and loves to Tango. Anthony Hill specialises in the development of human potential. In the 1990’s he founded Future Managers, a company focusing on the transfer of knowledge that is today the leader in its chosen markets. He successfully exited the company in 2012, but continues to write text books for them & in 2016 published “Grow your own Timber” – a definitive book on ‘how to’ develop employee talent. While growing the business Anthony had the opportunity to teach at the University of Cape Town which led to his involvement with the Genesis Project. He is immensely proud of the role Genesis continues to play in developing entrepreneurs for Africa. He can’t tango but he’s still on the lookout for the perfect wave to surf.
