The GoodHealth program embraces the values and ethics provided by Goodwill of Silicon Valley to enhance and enrich our priority population of moderate to severe special education youth and young adults throughout three Silicon Valley school districts. The GoodHealth program provides equal access to health education, work opportunities, and mobility training through meaningful classroom health education lessons, on-site volunteer experience, and monthly field trip activities.
GoodHealth’s vision is to build the capacity of each participant to manage their life healthfully as an individual, community member, peer, and family member in a way that empowers them to become their own advocates.
GoodHealth offers interns a full year of in-school class instruction by building skills in various health areas, including nutrition, personal hygiene, substance abuse prevention, personal safety, and sex education. Additionally, interns are assigned projects that assist in advancement in event planning, outreach, marketing, and more!
