New Zealand has some of the worst Gut health statistics in the world. Research we funded in 2004 and then again in 2014, showed that rates of Gut disease such as Coeliac and IBD increase over 50% in Kiwi communities during that 10 year period.
The Gut Foundation mandate is to fund research and education, as those two things create change.
We have successfully raised funds of over $1.5 million to date, for more than thirty individual research projects.
Currently we are funding a first of its kind in the world study into the journey from symptom to diagnosis for Kiwis with gut disease.
