The Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation envisions a healthier world through medical research. Mission: To improve health by accelerating support for medical research through recognition of research excellence, public education and advocacy. The Lasker Awards The Lasker Foundation's Awards Program recognizes the contributions of scientists, clinicians, and public servants who have made major advances in the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure or prevention of human disease. Educational Programs The Lasker Foundation is committed to educational initiatives that inspire the next generation of researchers and engage the public in support of scientific inquiry. The annual Lasker Lecture is held in partnership with a leading academic institution. The Foundation supports outreach to high school and college students and the general public. Other Programs The Foundation also supports select initiatives that raise awareness of medical discoveries and their benefits to human health, and that increase funding for the medical science enterprise. These initiatives have included study groups, Congressional briefings, innovative web-based programs, educational forums, and scholarly studies. The Lasker Foundation is not a grant-giving organization.
