Lighthouse is a registered public trust that exists to contribute to Malawi’s national response to HIV as a model in providing a continuum of high quality care and building capacity in the health sector. Lighthouse Trust, a World Health Organization (WHO) recognized Centre of Excellence, works in close coordination with the Ministry of Health (MOH) to operate two large integrated HIV testing, treatment and care Centres of Excellence (COEs) in Lilongwe, and provides technical assistance to 10 facilities in Lilongwe districts to replicate, roll-out and scale-up the prototype diagnostic, treatment and care strategies developed at COEs.: one on the campus of Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) and another at Bwaila Hospital.
Lighthouse prides itself in adapting innovative approaches such as the use of point-of-care electronic health record (EHR) system for HIV care management and providing and supporting trainings with national scope in the areas of HTS, management of HIV, data use, and quality improvement to various range of cadres that support the national HIV response.
