About The Makers Hub

Our mission is to establish a Makerspace in the city of Compton, starting with the opening of the Compton Tool Library. A makerspace is a communal work space where people can learn, explore their creativity and make things. A successful maker initiative goes beyond simply creating a makerspace, it extends to a network of opportunities and possibilities to transform individuals and the community through the creation of a maker mindset. This mentality reveals that opportunity lies in creativity and that there are many steps to achieving success, including design, construction, revision, self reflection, collaboration, and more. With this in mind, individuals put their creativity into practice by applying critical thinking skills in solving problems and gaining confidence through collaboration. We aren't just creating a Makerspace, we're creating a mindset along with the opportunity to revitalize the community. Learn more about our work on our website: themakershub.org
