The Maples Academy & Childcare Centre

The Maples Academy was founded in 1989 under the name The Maples Independent Country School. The school was established to provide a higher quality alternative education, rooted in the basics, using traditional teaching methods. The ‘back to the basics’ approach was coupled with a focus on strong moral values. For 30 years, The Maples has been providing a superior education for our students from Preschool to Grade 8. We are proud to continue to serve the communities of Orangeville, Caledon, Shelburne, Grand Valley and the counties of Dufferin, Wellington, Simcoe and Peel. In March of 2014, The Maples was purchased by the owner and CEO of St. Jude’s Academy and Oakwood Academy in Mississauga, Aaron Sawatsky. With its new ownership, The Maples Academy became the only school in the Orangeville Area offering the highly respected International Baccalaureate program.
