We are The Mill. Founded in 2013 by a collective of diverse artists and creatives, The Mill has grown into a vibrant home for South Australian artistry - a place where artforms collide, and evolve, sparking creativity in all its forms. More than just a studio, The Mill is home to independent creatives and small creative businesses alike - a place where collaboration drives innovation, and artistic practice is pushed beyond what any individual artist could achieve alone. Here, artists and creatives truly belong; raw ideas are milled through cross-disciplinary artistic experimentation, igniting creativity and transforming concepts into extraordinary works of art. At The Mill, we offer professional support to help elevate artists and create pathways to share their work locally, nationally and internationally through carefully curated artistic programming. And the best part? We invite audiences not just to observe, but to connect, engage, and become part of our vibrant, experimental arts community. The Mill’s vision is for a thriving and prosperous arts culture in South Australia. Since 2013 we’ve supported thousands of artists and creatives, linking curious, engaged audiences with the arts. Our CBD venue includes 57 artist studios, two galleries, a performing arts space, sound and photography studios, a tools workshop and shared meeting facilities. Our broad, year-round program provides artists with the necessary physical space to work on their practice, alongside diverse public events, performances and exhibitions, and professional development opportunities. The Mill provides a breeding ground for artistic culture and amplifies the value of the arts for general public audiences and our artistic community.
