The Mint Collaborative

The Mobility and Intelligent Transportation (MInT) collaborative, anchored at IIT Madras, aims to bring the Industry, Government, Public Agencies and Academia together, to co-create the Bharat Multi-Modal Mobility Stack (BM3S) – a digital public good – to enable standardization and holistic system solutions aligned with the sustainable development goals (SDG). MInT is a pre-eminent global initiative, to build digital mobility infrastructure, an R&D portfolio and a skilled workforce, to develop breakthrough mobility solutions, to realise SDGs including a 50% reduction in total transport emissions, 50% reduction in fatalities, and shifting 50% of all transport to net-zero (energy-efficient) modes. The IIT Madras BM3S portfolio includes research proposals on multimodal freight planning for Indian Railways, multimodal trip planner in smart cities for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), improved safety and efficiencies of highways for the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). The MInT collaborative was launched at the first Mobility Summit, held on 4-5 April, 2024 at IIT Madras. Our Theme is ''Mobility Dreams for a Billion'' and we are based on the principle of ''Collaborate and Compete''.
