The Moving Actuary was created during the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020 where, in the context of the physical restrictions, we realized the need for support in the young actuarial community, which can be an exciting journey but also a lonely one due to its specialized nature. We proposed setting up online study groups in a virtual classroom and were overwhelmed by the positive response to the proposal.
The Moving Actuary draws on the principles of “a load shared is a problem halved”; that time is our most precious commodity; and that collective support in the actuarial space will result in an improved pass rate for actuarial examinations and accreditation.
