About Number Five Project
The Number Five Project is a night shelter located in Guildford for homeless men and women over the age of 18. We offer short term emergency accommodation with support. Number Five can accommodate 16 Men and Women. The initial length of stay is 7 days; this may be extended on an individual basis, depending on the situation. The project opens every day of the year at 6pm and provides a hot evening meal, hot showers, laundry, a bed for the night and breakfast in the morning. We close at 10am daily and are shut throughout the day. Inside we have a communal dining room and TV lounge and we offer 1-2-1 key-worker support to all our residents. We are linked in with the local homeless outreach support team and between our services we offer help with longer term accommodation, benefits, medication and referrals to local specialist agencies, for example, addiction services. Number Five aims to provide a stable living environment for all, regardless of background. We aim to support those who want to help themselves stabilise and move towards more independent living. Our first priority is to ensure that our residents feel safe and secure during their stay with us and have their basic needs met. With this framework as our basis, we encourage self-help and personal responsibility to achieve goals and objectives on the path to improved lives.
