The Optimist

The Optimist is a men’s store at Platform in Culver City offering a selection of apparel, shoes, accessories and home objects in a living room setting. With a focus on quality, fit and detail across price points, our independent edit of global brands is chosen and styled for LA living. We want to connect you to the Italian blazer of your dreams and show you how to style it ten different ways, including with jeans and a t-shirt. The mix of brands, hand-selected by founders David Fishbein and Joseph Miller, includes exclusive labels which are not currently available anywhere else in the US. David and Joey - also the creators of Platform - drew on their global network of best-in-class independent designers to develop the store, from artisan leather-makers in Mexico City to iconic apothecaries in Portugal and beyond.
