The Outdoor Collaborative

The Outdoor Collaborative (TOC), is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in England and Wales that delivers free, guided walks around the British countryside for disadvantaged young adults. The charity also provides free training to improve digital media skills whilst on the guided walks. A location is then provided, to give further training to edit the captured digital media. By providing these services, it gives the users an opportunity to improve digital media skills and develop life experiences. The lives of the disadvantaged young adults will be improved by providing an inspiring opportunity to travel out of the inner city and see the British countryside, in turn improving and promoting mental and physical health. Aims To provide free training to help develop digital media and editing skills. To inspire and improve the lives of young adults by providing an opportunity to visit the British countryside, whilst providing a structured learning environment. To develop and ameliorate the mental health of young adults. Objectives • Guided walks operating in the British countryside by a qualified competent guide. • Walking equipment made available for the walks. • Training provided to capture photography and video of the guided walks. • Media equipment made available for use. • A location to edit the media made available. • Computing equipment, software and training provided to edit the captured media. • The edited media made available for the users to keep.
