We strive to bridge the gap between academic discoveries and public knowledge, making the fascinating story of the ancient Nilgiris accessible and engaging to all. Through educational outreach, citizen science, and fostering a community of curiosity, we aim to inspire a deeper appreciation of our shared evolutionary heritage and promote scientific literacy globally.” The goal of the PaleoNilgiris Project is to understand and illustrate the evolutionary natural history of the Nilgiris, as well as the changing distribution of land and sea during the past 650 million years. It’s a multidisciplinary exploration, documentation and conservation project focusing on paleogeography, paleoecology, paleovegetation, paleomagnetism, paleontology, paleoclimatology, geology, and many other fields.
