The Pittsburgh Study

All children and teens in Allegheny County deserve access to the amenities and resources needed to thrive. The Pittsburgh Study’s community-partnered research and program interventions apply science-based solutions to our region’s toughest problems including health, education, and racial equity. Changing the way research interacts with people is the value proposition to our community. Across age-based collaboratives and several cross-cutting scientific committees, TPS drives collective impact by working through community partnership to rapidly apply science-backed program interventions to address pressing health and development issues. Together, we are transforming the way we do science. The Pittsburgh Study has a dynamic scientific model that includes three unique elements: 1) Data to Action that centers Bright Spots, 2) Collective impact focused on transforming social determinants of health and achievement, and 3) Citizen Science in all aspects of design, evaluation, and dissemination.
