The POCketbook

The POCketbook is a social enterprise that aims to create a space for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) creatives, artists, and entrepreneurs - across fields, across industries - to get to know each other, and build a community. Halifax has so many incredible BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) creatives but not enough spaces for collaboration. We host monthly meetups for our community, featuring speakers who share their personal and professional journeys, lead activities, and engage in Q&As with attendees. We also support local businesses by providing spaces for promotion, networking, and connection. What makes a creative? If someone considers themselves a blogger, model, writer, actor, filmmaker, poet, musician, entrepreneur or anything else that takes an ounce of creativity, they're welcome at our events! Giveback is also very important to us, and every event is associated with a cause, where we donate a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales.
