When Angus & Kartiya realised university had become a training ground for creatives to go into research, and academy-respected (but community-ignored) art, they founded this. The Provocative Inklings.
We're building a unique creative community in Melbourne that successfully welds creativity and business together for inspiring, positive and collective results.
We're doing this in two main ways:
1. Firstly (but really secondly), the aim to build a creative community in Melbourne/Naarm for university students and all other creatives/writers in town who lack a social network that understands who they are and why they love being creative. By doing so, creating publishing opportunities that are easy to access, promoting emerging writers, and making real-life impact in our participants' lives.
2. Secondly (but really firstly), to attract like-minded creative collectives, businesses and individual entrepreneurs to see the Power of Network that PI strives to embody, and join us in the truly collaborative, hierarchically flat initiative to build back the Third Space for creatives and businesses in Melbourne. This connection has either gone backwards, become unbalanced, or simply non-existent in the more public spheres where we want to see GREAT collaborations leading to a GREATER society through creativity and business.
Let's work together again, and bridge that gap that the Arts Academy-style education has made prevalent.
